Step 1: Add the Pork
Place the pork butt directly into the slow cooker. No trimming or special preparation is necessary.
Step 2: Prepare the Sauce
In a medium bowl, whisk together the barbecue sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, and garlic powder until smooth.
Step 3: Cover the Pork
Pour the sauce evenly over the pork. Turn the pork once or twice so it becomes well coated with the sauce.
Step 4: Slow Cook
Cover and cook:
LOW: 8–10 hours
HIGH: 5–6 hours
The pork is ready when it pulls apart easily with two forks.

Transfer the pork to a large cutting board or platter. Shred it using two forks, then return the meat to the slow cooker and stir well so every piece is coated with the flavorful sauce.
